Con la nueva reforma de la secundaria en Francia se estima que se necesita con urgencia 1.000 docentes que enseñen español. La reforma pide que se dicten menos horas en lectivas de lenguas como el latín y el griego, y se empiece a impartir más en inglés y español. La reforma pretende aumentar a 54 horas la enseñanza de una segunda lengua durante los tres años de la secundaria a partir de los once años.
La demanda de los estudiantes por el idioma español se ha triplicado, llegando a un estimado de 2, 7 millones de interesado en aprender la lengua.
