El Ejecutivo actual colocó dentro de los ejes de gobierno, recuperar estas dependencias valiosas en lo económico y cultural, para direccionarlas hacia la dinamización de la economía lugareña.
RACIOCINIO
Mientras otros municipios luchan por construir infraestructuras para mega-colegios, Elías dispone, desde hace varios, de un local grande, con amplios salones, piscina, zonas para la recreación, capilla, áreas para laboratorios, auditorio, local para cocina y comedores.
Con ese fundamento, el alcalde Juan Diego Trujillo Artunduaga, definió el montaje de tres programas técnicos Y tecnológicos por el SENA, para que manteniendo la característica académica, ofrecer oportunidades a quienes deseen comenzar este tipo de preparación independiente de otros lugares del Departamento.
Con esa visión concretó un convenio con el Departamento, el año pasado, que permitió hacer inversiones municipales, para hacer mantenimiento y conservación, impedir el deterioro y garantizar el aseo general de las dependencias, antes de empezar el acondicionamiento especifico, como en efecto se hizo.
La proyección además, es montar allí el primer centro de formación de docentes del sur colombiano, por lo que desde el año pasado, el Ejecutivo municipal con Planeación Departamental y la Secretaría de Cultura del Huila, perfeccionan el proyecto, que permitirá en abril contar con un plan que define el cronograma de inversión, los indicadores sociales y económicos que conduzca a finiquitarlo al finalizar el 2017
La iniciativa se complemente con un buen servicio de acueducto y alcantarillado, fuera de recuperar, reparar y pavimentar importantes vías que permiten buena comunicación terrestre, cosas que se concretan en la actualidad.
