Los Alcaldes de ciudades capitales vemos con preocupación cómo frente al tema del narcomenudeo o comercialización de sustancias alucinógenas en pequeñas dosis pareciera no existir una salida contundente que permita atacar todos los eslabones de una cadena que, a todas luces, ocupa un lugar fundamental en las rentas de la criminalidad organizada.
En días recientes, luego de los operativos adelantados por la Fiscalía, la Policía y el Ejército en contra de la venta de droga en los entornos educativos vimos con preocupación cómo una gran cantidad de estos delincuentes salían de las audiencias para sus casas y la calle, probablemente a seguir delinquiendo como sus anotaciones de reincidentes lo demuestran. Esta situación nos pone en alerta y creemos que obliga a toda la institucionalidad a buscar una salida conjunta a esta grave problemática.
Uno de los puntos más críticos que hemos logrado observar es cómo día a día la operatividad de las autoridades en la captura decidida de quienes se lucran del narcomenudeo, se ve diezmada por las libertades excusadas en el argumento -manipulado- de la dosis mínima. Gramos, libras y kilos que suman toneladas de dinero criminal.
Como Alcaldes, lo primero sea manifestar nuestro respaldo al señor Fiscal General de la Nación en esta alerta y llamado de atención. Encontramos en su incansable trabajo una lucha decidida que compartimos en contra de la criminalidad. En el mismo sentido, ponemos a disposición todas nuestras capacidades para llevar a cabo una discusión seria y profunda que permita que en nuestro sistema legal y constitucional existan garantías reales para combatir la criminalidad.
