El Reino Unido, la Gran Bretaña el imperio donde reina su majestad Isabel II, el país emblemático por excelencia del capitalismo mundial, ha dado un paso inesperado y sorprendente: su retiro de la comunidad económica europea. Por referendo –la expresión máxima del voto popular–, en una apretadísimo resultado, decidió retirarse para “recuperar su soberanía económica y política”, tal y como lo difundieron los promotores del Brexit. El sacudón de la economía mundial ha sido violento: las bolsas de valores se mueven a la baja por la incertidumbre de los valores financieros y la inestabilidad de las monedas en especial la libra y el euro; los bancos, sobre todo los ingleses pierden en un par de días más del 20% de su valor; los términos y reglas de intercambio en el mercado mundial quedaron sin piso. La sensación de que todo tiene que volver a negociarse empieza a abrumar a los ideólogos del capitalismo financiero dominante.
Lo peor está por venir. No solo por el hecho de que el promotor del bloque capitalista mundial –Inglaterra– tal y como hoy lo conocemos, ha dinamitado los acuerdos sobre los cuales se sustentaba, sino porque el riesgo de contagio no solo en Europa como en los Estados Unidos o países de Asia, puede terminar por crear una situación de caos inmanejable. Además, porque en el fondo el Brexit es el fracaso de la globalización del capitalismo financiero parasitario que armó un andamiaje para favorecer los negocios del gran capital y de las grandes multinacionales monopólicas, despreciando las necesidades y derechos de las fuerzas de trabajo a quienes por el contrario envilece. Esto incluye a las clases medias que habían logrado ventajas indudables en las “economías del bienestar” que el neoliberalismo ha venido reduciendo para transferir esos recursos a la acumulación sin medida del 1% más rico.
Si hay algo evidente es que el mundo capitalista del lucro y la ganancia máxima, de beneficio exclusivo para una minoría de ultraricos, no funciona. Que ese sistema no genera sino desigualdades extremas a la vez que atenta contra la estabilidad ecológica de la Tierra, a la que somete a depredaciones extremas que ponen en riesgo la supervivencia de la especie. En conclusión, la rebelión de los pueblos tiene que conducir a una renegociación de los términos y normas en las relaciones económicas y políticas del mundo de los últimos 70 años.
Ante la debacle, los ideólogos del neoliberalismo, de todas las pelambres y todas las latitudes, están saltando desesperados como liebres asustadas a prevenir contra el riesgo del ‘populismo’. Porque para ellos que son lacayos fletados por el gran capital para defender y promover sus negocios, cualquier decisión o propuesta que no favorezca a sus amos, es un anatema, es ‘populismo’. Podrán gritar, brincar o descomponerse pero no impedirán que los pueblos del mundo aprovechemos el río revuelto, porque en él hay ganancia para los pescadores…, y la temporada de pesca se torna provechosa para los desarraigados del planeta.
