La eco-reserva La Tribuna, duplica la extensión del área al anexar zonas adyacentes, con características similares de fauna y flora propias de un bosque seco tropical.
La ampliación del área, fortalece la importancia en la ejecución de importantes investigaciones y la colocan dentro de las que son materia de cuidado tanto en Colombia como en otros países del continente americano.
La Tribuna es un centro de investigación y Educación Ambiental situado en Tamarindo zona rural de Neiva al noroccidente del Huila.

Inicialmente tenía una extensión de 128 hectáreas que guardan sitios de importancia científica como: La laguna verde, La Moyita, Las Moyas intermitentes, La Quebrada Neme, la cascada Chispiatal, La Cueva el Chímbilo y El muro de la vida.
Esta área inicial es un espacio con gran cantidad de especies animales y vegetales que se encuentra abierto al público por ser un ecosistema donde se realizan actividades ecoturísticas, de investigación y de conservación.
Por tener una cobertura de bosque seco tropical en rico en cuerpos de agua lénticos y lóticos que se constituyen como fuentes hídricas indispensables para el territorio y la comunidad, con aproximadamente 50 nacederos y 3 cascadas distribuidas por toda la reserva.
