Las 32 mil hectáreas que conforman la Serranía Peñas Blancas, en el sur del Huila, cuentan desde diciembre de 2020, con Plan de manejo.
Este parque natural de reciente reconocimiento como importante reserva natural, es conciderada vital para abastecer de agua a una amplia población, el habitat de inmensa especie de fauna y el área de mayor plantación natural de Roble Negro acompañado de variada flora.
El Plan fue aprobado por Junta Directiva de La Corporación Autónoma Regional del Alto Magdalena, como lo ratificó Camilo Agudelo Perdomo, Director General de la CAM.
