Él me había acosado antes con la insólita proposición de pagarme para que tuviéramos relaciones sexuales. Pero era tan cercano —y admirado— que decidí pasar ese episodio pensando que tal vez ese día estaba fuera de juicio y, llena de rabia conmigo, seguí hablándole como si no hubiera pasado nada.
Me cuestionaba una y otra vez: si había dejado mucha piel al descubierto, si había mostrado alguna señal equivocada, si era yo quien había provocado aquella situación.
Y después vino lo de siempre: silencio.
Pienso en esas mujeres que, como yo, se han quedado calladas por la vergüenza de denunciar que fueron acosadas. Es como si todo nuestro entorno estuviera dispuesto para que seamos nosotras quienes sintamos culpa y no ellos, los acosadores.
Durante muchos años odié ser mujer. “Debí nacer hombre”, me repetía. Ser hombre equivalía a tener un ansiado lugar seguro, desprovisto de desvalimiento, explicaciones no pedidas, imposiciones. Ser mujer, en cambio, suponía hacerse cargo de nuestros fracasos y vulnerabilidades.
“Las niñas no se visten así”. “No te sientes con las piernas abiertas”. “Por eso es que las violan”. “Ponte brasier porque se te ven los pezones”. “Estás buscando que te falten el respeto”. “Se te ve todo con esa pijama de ojalillo blanco”. “Te ves forrada con esa lycra. ¡Ponte una blusa larga!” “Con esa falda tan corta estás dando papaya para que te violen”.
Estas frases, tan cercanas a mi cotidianidad y repetidas como imperativo hasta el hartazgo cuando era adolescente, además de machistas, normalizaban y justificaban el acoso, la intimidación y la violación. Somos nosotras, las mujeres, en quienes todavía recae toda la responsabilidad de “cuidarnos”. Esconder nuestra piel para que ellos no se exciten y no nos violen. Mostrar menos tetas, taparnos las piernas, cubrir nuestra espalda, usar lycra debajo de la jardinera del colegio… ¿Cómo se atreven todavía a sugerirnos que debemos vestir de cual o tal forma para evitar ser violadas?
En el pueblo patriarcal donde crecí hubo una época en que enjambres de niños salían en bicicletas a manosear los culos de las niñas que caminaban por el parque o los andenes. Los niños celebraban cada trasero tocado y se jactaban al decir cuál era el más grande o el más duro. Los padres no los reconvenían. Y nosotras, las niñas, debíamos escondernos, mordernos los labios de la rabia, embravecernos por dentro. Nuevamente éramos nosotras las culpables por haber salido a la calle.
Quieren que no decidamos sobre nuestro cuerpo. Nos cuestionan por la falta de deseo de tener una familia. Nos plantean la tan anacrónica realización como mujeres solo cuando somos madres. Nos tildan de raras por no ser “las mujeres de”.
En el Día Internacional de la Mujer no hay nada que celebrar, es más, no acepto felicitaciones. En 2019, según cifras oficiales de Medicina Legal, 106 mujeres fueron asesinadas en Colombia, hubo 21.218 casos de violencia sexual y 349 de violencia intrafamiliar. Una de cada tres mujeres asesinadas había buscado justicia y protección, según ONU Mujeres. En el marco del conflicto armado, entre 1985 y 2016, se reportaron 14.309 víctimas de violencia sexual, de acuerdo con el Observatorio de Memoria y Conflicto (Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica).
Aún pienso en los latidos desbordados de miedo, los pies temblorosos huyendo de aquel hombre, el honor carbonizado por la humillación.
Que el silencio no nos arrastre ni nos nuble como a mí, cuando entonces creí que debía sentir culpa.
