El Huila elegirá el próximo 13 de marzo cuatro representantes a la Cámara. Recordemos que en nuestro sistema electoral la determinación de las curules elegidas se hace de la siguiente forma: Primero se determina el umbral que resulta de dividir la totalidad de votos válidos por el número de curules a elegir dividido por dos.
A las listas que pase el umbral se le aplicará la cifra repartidora que resulta de dividir el total de votos válidos de dicha lista por 1, 2, 3 y 4, es decir cada lista tiene cuatro cifras repartidoras.

Determinada las cifras repartidoras, se elegirán las cuatro más altas, lo que indica cuantas curules tendrá la lista. Si la lista es abierta se le adjudicará las curules correspondientes a los candidatos con mayor votación individual, si es cerrada se le asignará la curul en el orden de inscripción.
En las elecciones de 2018 conforme a los datos de la Registraduría se depositaron en el Huila 352.027 votos válidos, lo que indica que el umbral estuvo en 44.000 votos aproximadamente.

En dichas elecciones cinco listas pasaron el umbral; Conservador (68.802 votos), cambio radical (59.034 votos), liberal (49.049 votos), Centro Democrático (48324 votos) y la U (43.331 votos), cada lista tuvo como primera cifra repartidora la totalidad de su votación, pues la segunda cifra repartidora de la lista con mayor votación la del Partido conservador daría 34.401 votos, se adjudicó las curules a cada uno de los cuatro partidos con mayor votación, es decir que aunque el Partido de la U pasó el umbral su mayor cifra repartidora no le alcanzó para obtener la curul.

Lo anterior nos indica que no basta con obtener el umbral para ser electo, es necesario que se tenga una cifra repartidora entre los cuatro primeros lugares.
En el 2018 no pasó el umbral las listas de: Coalición Colombia (28.881 votos), Mira (18.442 votos), Unión Patriótica (11.129 votos), Partido ASI (2.491 votos) y Partido Somos (1932 votos).
