El Huila primera región colombiana, que adelanta monitoreo a la fauna silvestre amenazada vinculando a la población rural y relacionando la conservación de estas especies al servicio ambiental de los que depende la raza humana.
Esta una de las conclusiones del Segundo Festival Nacional de Oso Andino y Danta de Montaña realizado en Pitalito y San Agustín, al que asistieron investigadores y conferencistas latinoamericanos que adelantan estudios sobre estas 2 especies en peligro de extensión.
La experiencia en el Huila, permite reconocer, la importancia de la vinculación del ser humano ala proceso de conservación, para convertirlo en realidad
“Mientras no se haga conservación con las comunidades no tendremos resultados tan importantes como los que hemos alcanzado en el sur del Huila y en las áreas protegidas del departamento. Estamos reconociendo la gestión comunitaria desde el punto de vista de la conservación de la fauna, lo que permitirá consolidar una red de monitoreo de especies amenazadas a nivel nacional”, precisó Carlos Alberto Cuéllar Medina, el Director de la Corporación Autónoma Regional del Alto Magdalena.
