La Junta Directiva de La Federación Colombiana de Periodistas – FECOLPER – permanentemente se preocupa de la situación por la que atraviesan los profesionales de las comunicaciones en el país, entre las que se encuentra el despido masivo de Medios de Comunicación.
En ese sentido la reciente reunión de los cuadros de dirección debatió sobre la precariedad de las condiciones de empleo en el país perfiló una agenda laboral e hizo un balance del trabajo gremial.
El mayor problema que afronta FECOLPER, es el desinterés de Los Periodistas, por la actividad gremial, pero son los primeros en reclamar apoyo cuando son víctimas del despido, la persecución laboral, las amenazas, el ataque por redes sociales o las dificultades para el desempeño del trabajo.
LA ESTRUCTURA
La Organización dispone en cada Departamento de una representación gremial, que a través de sus delegados, definen una Junta Directiva Nacional, encargado de encausar políticas gremiales, actividades y procesos, para la defensa de la libertad de expresión, fundamentalmente.
FECOLPER a su vez es miembro activo de la Federación de Periodistas de América Latina y el Caribe – FEPALC – y de la Federación Internacional de Periodistas – FIP –
Como organización gremial, trabaja en el perfeccionamiento del Plan Nacional para la reparación colectiva de Periodistas víctimas de la violencia, en concordancia con la ley 1448, al tiempo que actúa ante los entes de gobierno, para regular normativas que inciden en la actividad informativa nacional.
El trabajo no es fácil, porque la indiferencia del Periodista por la defensa de su profesión, se convierte en palos en la ruedas, cuando se trata de impulsar proyectos o definir leyes en el Congreso de la República.
Las condición es laborales, es hoy por hoy, el mayor obstáculo para el ejercicio del Periodismo en el país, reflejado en extenuantes jornadas de trabajo, la disponibilidad 24 horas, los bajos salarios, la falta de garantías y en los municipios con mucha facilidad se nota que quienes ejercen la profesión deben pagar a los Medios de Comunicación, para emitir sus programas, y es el primer eslabón en la cadena de censura y deterioro del Periodismo.
