El Gobierno Nacional tiene el 83% de las acciones de ELECTROHUILA.
La empresa Electrificadora del Huila es una sociedad anónima, la encargada de prestar el servicio público domiciliario considerado esencial; de manera que, no se vende como tal la empresa, obviamente la Nación vende su participación y tiene una implicación muy importante y es que, quién la compro va a quedar como nuevo socio mayoritario, dicho de otra manera, indirectamente, llegamos a lo mismo, el socio mayoritario ya no sería La Nación sino un inversionista privado.

Esta, una primera consideración muy importante de tener en cuenta, en la posible venta de ELECTROHUILA.
Activos productivos
Normalmente El Gobierno Nacional, como cualquier otro ente territorial, puede vender activos, en este caso serían acciones de ELECTROHUILA, cuando la empresa en dónde tiene esas inversiones o sus activos son improductivos; cuando le están generando a La Nación o a la región un gasto, pero no un ingreso, que no sería el caso de ELECTROHUILA.
De interés: $2.300 millones para conexiones eléctricas
La electrificadora del Huila, es una empresa que, tradicionalmente ha tenido buenos resultados y, por tanto, han dejado buenos dividendos a La Nación y a la región. Recursos que han servido para sustentar parte de los presupuestos a cada uno de esos entes territoriales, entonces eso no sería una excusa.
El Gobierno Nacional, no solamente ahora, sino desde atrás, ha argumentado que el sector energético es estratégico y eso contradice su propósito de vender sus acciones en una empresa como ELECTROHUILA, tradicionalmente más rentables para el propio Gobierno Nacional. Ahí hay una contradicción.

En ésta última parte del Gobierno de Duque, mucho se rumoró sobre una posible venta, con el argumento de la situación fiscal de La Nación.
Esa situación fiscal, en el último año precisamente, se libró con los buenos resultados de ECOPETROL y el pago de una participación internacional qué tiene Colombia a nivel de la banca multilateral.

Esta es una explicación un poco compleja, simplemente es importante decir que, la situación fiscal de corto plazo de La Nación se alivió, ya no se justificaría la venta de activos y menos si son activos productivos.
Entonces, esa decisión del Gobierno de un tiempo para acá, se volvió más difícil de justificar y francamente a un mes de entregar el mandato Iván Duque, no tiene ni la justificación económica ni mucho menos, la justificación política, para vender las acciones de La Nación en ELECTROHUILA. Por consiguiente, los huilenses deberán seguir teniendo una empresa en donde el 99.9% de la inversión es de tipo publicó, la mayoritaria de La Nación y el resto de la región.
