Y además violatorio del principio de laicidad que consagra la Constitución. Me refiero por supuesto a la denominada Dirección de Asuntos Religiosos, recientemente creada por el alcalde Gorky Muñóz en medio de la crisis fiscal y la pandemia que anuncia negros nubarrones en el futuro de nuestra capital campeona nacional en pobreza e informalidad, justificada por el nuevo director, el pastor René Jiménez, insólitamente por la necesidad de una política pública para que “no haya impedimentos para que las personas puedan profesar su religión libremente”, como si esa libertad no estuviera garantizada y protegida por la misma Constitución en un país donde proliferan como verdolaga cualquier cantidad de credos y religiones que no tienen ningún obstáculo para su libre ejercicio.
El solo hecho de que haya sido designado un pastor de una de las tantas iglesias que hay como director, es un desconocimiento de nuestro Estado laico, que no significa como lo sostiene despistadamente, que no somos un país ateo, sino que tenemos libertad de conciencia y de cultos, en el entendimiento de que toda persona tiene derecho a la libertad de conciencia y de religión, que implica la libertad de conservar su religión o sus creencias, o cambiar de religión o de creencias, o de creer o no creer, así como la libertad de profesar y divulgar su religión o sus creencias o no creencias, que dimana del artículo 18 de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos, que protege el derecho a tener una religión o a no tenerla, es decir, que cubre ese derecho a los ateos o agnósticos o a los que no profesan ninguna religión, que por supuesto no requieren tener un oneroso cargo público para que les sea garantizado su derecho.
No puede ser más inútil y violatorio de ese Estado de laicidad, y más con las sandeces que afirma el nuevo director que lo justifican como que “una de las cosas que determinó el Estado fue sacar a Dios de los colegios, y eso fue un grave error, no debió sacar a Dios, porque cuando eso se hizo se incrementó el consumo de sustancias sicoactivas, pandillas y suicidios”, como si Dios, que según los creyentes está en todas partes y no puede ser sacado de ninguna, tenga que ver con el incremento de la drogadicción y la criminalidad, y no las aberrantes circunstancias sociales en que malvive buena parte de nuestra sociedad, sumida en el abandono, la ignorancia y la pobreza.
Y qué decir de la justificación del alcalde Muñoz para defender la creación del inútil e inconstitucional cargo, afirmando que el único que nos puede dar esperanza es Dios en medio de la crisis social y la pandemia, sugestivo de que su gran obra de gobierno en medio de la precariedad fiscal y económica será la misericordia divina que no se ha visto en este país en 200 años de depredación y miseria, ante la incapacidad y la impotencia para proponer verdaderas estrategias de gobierno que nos permitan salir del atraso, la inseguridad y la politiquería en nuestra descaecida capital. Lo dicho, cargo inútil y oneroso.
