Este 2017, parece que va a ser un año bien diferente. La crisis del mundo capitalista, es de tal magnitud que los sacudones del año anterior, van a determinar nuevos rumbos para los pueblos de todo el planeta. El fracaso de la globalización neoliberal, como un instrumento para dar respuesta a las necesidades de la inmensa mayoría de los habitantes, es evidente. El gran reclamo, en todas las latitudes, es la garantía de un trabajo digno. La globalización creó riquezas descomunales que terminaron concentradas en una ínfima minoría de grandes potentados: el 0,01%, mientras niega ese reclamo multitudinario en EE.UU., en Europa, en Asia, en África, en América Latina…
Un sistema que fracasa porque su norma es la desigualdad. Y no cualquiera, sino desigualdades extremas, ofensivas e indignantes como la muerte por desnutrición, ¡por física hambre!, de miles de niños wayuu, para poner un ejemplo que nos toca directamente; un sistema así tiene que ser desechado por la humanidad. Aunque no lo parezca, eso es lo que expresa la voluntad popular en decisiones tan inesperadas y controvertidas como el Brexit, la salida de Gran Bretaña de la Unión Europea; o la elección de Donald Trump a la presidencia de los Estados Unidos; o el triunfo del No en el plebiscito por la paz en Colombia; o el rechazo a las modificaciones constitucionales en Italia y, en infinidad de decisiones donde los pueblos, desesperados ante la inacción, quieren inicialmente devolver la rueda de la historia para retornar a épocas de abundancia, que hoy les ofrecen dirigentes populistas.
Esta situación está empezando por dinamitar las reglas de juego y las instituciones con las que el mundo ha funcionado durante los últimos 70 años. Toda la época que va desde el fin de la II Guerra Mundial imperialista, a mediados del siglo XX, hasta hoy, se está cerrando. De un mundo donde campeó el libre comercio como statu quo dominante, que favoreció a las grandes potencias económicas y a los ricos de los países ricos y a sus socios de los países pobres. Ese mundo está llamado a desaparecer. Máxime cuando el régimen de producción del libre comercio, de la propiedad privada y la ganancia como el máximo objetivo del sistema, está poniendo en peligro el funcionamiento del ecosistema planetario por el uso irracional de los recursos.
Que la reacción inicial sea hacia el proteccionismo de las naciones, empezando por la más rica de todas: los Estados Unidos, nos muestra la desesperación de las élites en el poder. Los desbarajustes de las relaciones entre países, entre empresas multinacionales, entre mercados, crearán mucho ruido y más de una confrontación, incluso violenta, pero terminará colocando la mira de los pueblos en nuevos objetivos de cooperación y ayuda mutua, como la única salida a la encrucijada. No le temamos al desorden que se abre bajo los cielos, preparémonos para sacar el provecho que siempre hemos anhelado.

Today, I went to the beach front with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said «You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.» She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
