La Fundación Natura decidieron permitir el acceso Bosque Seco Tropical ubicadas en jurisdicción de los municipios de Gigante, Agrado, Garzón y Paicol en el Huila.
La organización trabaja con EnEl-Emgesa, sobre la zona aledaña al embalse de la Central hidroeléctrica de El Quimbo, construido sobre el río Magdalena en el centro del territorio huilense.
Las visitas guiadas al centro de investigación Attalea, las suspendieron el año pasado como consecuencia de la pandemia por el Covid-19.
Este programa de restauración ecológica considerado el más grande del país, fue galardonado con el Reconocimiento a las Buenas Prácticas en Desarrollo Sostenible de Pacto Global Red Colombia por su contribución a la vida de ecosistemas terrestres (ODS 15).
Es de reconocer que la iniciativa de Enel Biodiversa, busca la recuperar 11.079 hectáreas de Bosque Seco Tropical ubicadas sobre uno de los costados del espejo de agua.
Protocolo
Los protocolos de bioseguridad para la atención de visitantes adoptados por Fundación Natura incluyen, entre otras medidas, delimitar el número de participantes por visita a máximo 10 personas menores de 60 años, exigir el uso de elementos de bioseguridad y seguridad, desinfección y lavado de manos, uso permanente de mascarilla, distanciamiento social, desinfección de vehículo de transporte y elementos de contacto, y reporte de condiciones de salud.

Las visitas están diseñadas tanto para el público en general, como para el público especializado, como académicos e investigadores.
El recorrido más corto es de medio día y comprende una caminata por un sendero en el que se adecuaron parcelas demostrativas de las actividades de restauración que se llevan a cabo en la zona de intervención. Estas réplicas se diseñaron hace casi 4 años, por lo que se pueden observar áreas con árboles que ya llegan a los 5 y 6 metros de alto. El tour termina en el vivero, donde se explica la preparación de las plantas desde la recolección de semillas, procesamiento, germinación, trasplante y crecimiento de las especies que se llevan a campo
