En vísperas del Foro Económico Mundial que reunió este 23 de enero en Davos (Suiza) a las élites políticas y comerciales del planeta, la ONG Oxfam, que lucha contra la pobreza, ha publicado su informe acerca de la distribución de la riqueza entre los más adinerados y los más pobres en el 2017.
El informe, titulado ‘Recompensen el trabajo, no la riqueza’, urge a nivelar la brecha entre las ganancias de los ‘pesos pesados’ y los empleados comunes, entre hombres y mujeres, y combatir la evasión de impuestos.
Los autores del documento indican que el 82 % de toda la riqueza creada durante el año anterior fue a parar a los bolsillos del 1 % más adinerado del planeta, cuya fortuna supera desde el 2015 a la del 99 % restante de la población mundial.
En el último año, los mil millonarios han incrementado su patrimonio en 762.000 millones de dólares, mientras que cerca de la mitad de la población del planeta no ha logrado mejorar su situación económica. Según los expertos, esta enorme desigualdad en el nivel de ingresos no mejorará en el futuro cercano.
