El Instituto Sueco de Investigaciones Ambientales adelantará proyectos que mejoraren las condiciones ambientales del Huila, mediante convenio de cooperación internacional que se firmará en junio venidero.
Los detalles de esa cooperación, se concretaron durante visita oficial que hizo una delegación sueca al Departamento donde se finiquitó documento de compromiso interinstitucional con respaldo de La Corporación Universitaria del Huila y La Gobernación del Departamental.
La esencia del convenio es la entrega de asesoría en desarrollo tecnológico sueco para generar soluciones a problemas que afecten el medio ambiente, como tratamiento de aguas residuales, aprovechamiento de energías alternativas, tratamiento de residuos sólidos y uso productivo de residuos del café.
Es posible que El Instituto Sueco, participe tanto en la Feria Internacional de Energías Alternativas, que realizará el Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje en el Departamento como en el Foro Internacional de Ríos y Humedales programado para Neiva, en el marco de las acciones que desarrolla la Mesa Temática por la Defensa del Territorio y el Agua.
