Iniciamos este año de 2018 con grandes expectativas. Sobre todo, ante la oportunidad de que en Colombia la orientación política del país de un vuelco total. Por primera vez, en todo lo que lleva de vida la nueva constitución del año 91, estamos frente a la posibilidad real de que el viejo poder, supérstite del régimen liberal-conservador que lideró la formación de la nación colombiana durante todo el siglo xx, sea remplazado por fuerzas que representan un nuevo país. El anhelo de sacar a Colombia de las viejas prácticas de hacer política, desde el clientelismo burocrático hasta la corrupción desbordada que nos ahoga, pasando por la violencia burda y despiadada, usada como método para imponer ideas hegemónicas…, ese anhelo es el que empieza a despertar por toda la geografía nacional. Tal es el ambiente que se respira.
¿Quiere eso decir que la alternativa es hacer borrón y cuenta nueva? ¿Qué lo que se plantea es hacer tabla rasa, frente a lo que ha sido la vida política del país? Personalmente, creo que no. Mal que bien, la sociedad colombiana se ha venido construyendo alrededor de los derechos ciudadanos. Que falta mucho por construir, sí, pero no estamos partiendo de cero. Sobre todo, porque una población ya bordeando los 50 millones de seres, con su infinita creatividad y capacidad de trabajo, ha suplido con creces las deficiencias de la política oficial. Podría ser mucho mejor y, esa es la tarea: hacer uso de las potencialidades de riqueza natural de nuestro territorio, así como, de la fortaleza de su fuerza de trabajo y de las fuerzas empresariales que, con el apoyo oportuno y firme del Estado, pueden y deben satisfacer las necesidades crecientes de los colombianos. Las posibilidades de construir un país próspero están a la mano y, solo hay un camino cierto para lograrlo: el trabajo duro de sus gentes, una educación avanzada, de calidad, estrechamente ligada a las ciencias y una organización estatal fuerte, eficiente, honesta, reconocida y acatada por la ciudadanía.
A este propósito, hay que apostarle. Hoy, cuando parece que por fin vamos a salir del vórtice de violencia que tanto daño nos ha hecho como sociedad, el cambio de visión, el cambio de rumbo, es indispensable. Aquellos que quieren, desde una posición mezquina, mantenernos en ese pasado de dolor y lágrimas, deben ser derrotados, así como los que quieren mantener el estado de cosas degenerado de la corrupción y el ventajismo de unos pocos privilegiados, deben ser aislados por quienes creemos que los mejores valores del pueblo colombiano descansan en el trabajo duro, el ahorro, la cooperación y la solidaridad.
Esa opción de cambio, la veo consolidándose en la Coalición Colombia: la conjunción de fuerzas de la Alianza Verde, el Polo Democrático Alternativo y Compromiso Ciudadano, liderados en su orden por Claudia López, Jorge Enrique Robledo y Sergio Fajardo. Con un trabajo juicioso de cerca de un año, han logrado coincidir en un programa mínimo sólido para iniciar la inmensa tarea de cambio que precisa el país, así como, en la selección de un candidato fuerte, Sergio Fajardo, encargado de encabezar los equipos de trabajo que, a nivel nacional, regional y local, tendrán la responsabilidad de llevar a buen término la tarea propuesta. Ese es el futuro promisorio que nos espera: abordemos con entusiasmo y confianza que la razón y las ganas son las que sobran.
