Una inversión cercana a los $6.700 millones, efectuará la Agencia de Desarrollo Rural (ADR) para rehabilitará 5 distritos de riego de mediana escala ubicados en Córdoba, Atlántico y Putumayo.
A la licitación pública a la que se presentaron 37 oferentes, se adjudicará el 28 de junio y los seleccionados tendrán un plazo de ejecución para el contrato de 5 meses, aseguró Carlos Eduardo Gechem, presidente de la Agencia de Desarrollo Rural.
Para los distritos de Córdoba (Mocarí y La Doctrina) se destinaron recursos por $2.954 millones, para los de Atlántico (Santa Lucía y Manatí) se asognaron $2.727 millones y para el Distrito de Sibundoy en el Putumayo se invertirán $1.000 millones.
Los Distritos de Riego son áreas geográficas donde se proporciona el servicio de riego mediante obras de infraestructura hidroagrícola, como vasos de almacenamiento, derivaciones directas, plantas de bombeo, pozos, canales y caminos.
Mediante sistemas de irrigación artificial, surten agua a zonas de ladera en las cuales este recurso hídrico se hace necesario para el desarrollo agrícola. Los Distritos de Riego de mediana escala tienen una extensión de 500 a 5.000 hectáreas.

El distrito de Riego Tesalia-Paicol en el occidente del Huila, fue asignada la ejecución a un grupo filial de Los Nule, por 90 mil millones de pesos, hace varios años, por parte del desaparecido INCODER, de los cuales el Departamento aportó el 20%. La obra se encuentra totalmente paralizada, pese a recibir más de 20 mil millones adicionales.
Lo ejecutado al parecer está en deterioro acelerado y tal como fue, caballito de batalla en las 10 últimas campañas políticas, la del 2018, no escapará a los politiqueros y gamonales de la región.
