La incertidumbre acosa a cerca de un centenar de mujeres que permanece, en medio de la Pandemia, sin ayuda oficial ni particular como tradicionales trabajadoras sobre el extenso trayecto del río Magdalena que inundó la Central Hidroeléctrica de El Quimbo.
El grupo lo integran mujeres dedicadas tradicionalmente a la pesca, la elaboración de artesanías las labores del campo para apoyar a la familia; pero desde la construcción la Central sus familias se desintegraron por falta de ingresos o el desplazamiento hacia otros territorios.
en la actualidad, desempeñan oficios varios en diferentes casas o se dedican a la venta informal en las calles de municipios como: Tarqui, Gigante, Garzón y Hobo por lo que exigen al Gobierno Departamental y Nacional una pronta solución, fijando la mirada en temas sociales, porque la situación que padece el grupo tiene impacto negativo entre la comunidad.
“Nosotros de parte del gobierno no hemos recibido ningún apoyo económico de ninguna índole durante esta pandemia, somos entre 80 y 100 mujeres que nos hemos visto afectadas por esta situación, por medio del gobierno no hemos recibido ningún tipo de ayuda, es muy difícil la situación porque en mi caso yo no recibí ni un solo mercado por parte de la alcaldía de mi municipio, logre subsistir con recursos que yo mismo busque por otro lado, y también gracias a mi familia y la organización, en ocasiones los pescadores nos regalaban plátanos, yucas y entre nosotros logramos sobrevivir, y fue así que nosotros pudimos salir adelante durante la pandemia, pero por medio del gobierno nunca recibimos nada” manifestó Luz Miriam Restrepo del Colectivo de mujeres afectadas por el Quimbo.
En estos tiempos de Pandemia, la asistencia alimentaria es parte de una estrategia adelantada por la Organización ASOQUIMBO para enfrentar la contingencia ocasionada por el Covid-19 que ha agudizado la situación de crisis social, económica y alimentaria de los campesinos y campesinas víctimas de la Represa El Quimbo, que en su mayoría siguen sin ser reconocidos por la transnacional Enel-Emgesa ni el Estado.
