Dos ministros y dos altos funcionarios del Gobierno Nacional, se movilizaron al Huila, para defender la reactivación energética de El Quimbo, y detener la ola de inconformidad que se registra en la región, por la imposición de intereses económicos, por encima de los ecológicos y sociales.
La acción fue similar a la presión ejercida desde el alto Gobierno, con Ministros, Viceministros, Senadores y Representantes a la Cámara, hacia el Juez que recibió la tutela de para que reactivara la generación.
Para respaldar a EMGRESA y la reactivación de El Quimbo, llegaron a Neiva, cosa inusual, el ministro de Minas y energía, Tomás González Estrada, El ministro de Ambiente y Desarrollo Social Gabriel Vallejo González, El Director Nacional de Licencias Ambientales Fernando Arriguí Mejía y el Director General de la AUNAP Otto Polanco.
El problema de El Quimbo se simplifica en: ”EMGESA no dejó pasar el caudal que el Magdalena necesita para mantener la vida acuática y retuvo las aguas en el hoyo del embalse, generándole contaminación masiva con la presencia de maderas y biomasa, que no retiró a tiempo, en la amplia zona inundada”
La multinacional utilizó la ola seca, para convertir en victimarios a los huilenses que le reclaman responsabilidad social, consiguió que le permitieran reanudar la generación, con aguas altamente contaminadas retenidas con argumentos fallases, porque técnicamente se comprobó que pudo haber mantenido el caudal del río, así no tuviese generación como lo explica el director General de la CAM Carlos Alberto Cuéllar “Con la información técnica que recibimos de parte de EMGESA, desde el mismo 18 de diciembre ya la cota o el nivel del embalse estaba por encima de la cota de vertedero por lo tanto se pudo haber, cumplimiento la orden judicial, haber generado una descarga por este punto de vertedero y seguramente se había podido dar continuidad al río o libre tránsito del río garantizando al menos la sostenibilidad del río”.
Desafortunadamente el mal ya está hecho y EMGESA con respaldo del Poder Central y el sector Financiero Nacional, continuará incumpliéndole a los huilenses y afectando el ecosistema regional, fuera de acabar con la reserva pesquera natural del caudaloso río.
La reapertura de turbinas en El Quimbo, no aumentó el nivel del río Magdalena, para garantizar la navegabilidad en la parte media y baja. El argumento que se esbozó es simplemente “Cuento Chino”
