La crisis que ocasiona la pandemia del Coronavirus, dejó al descubierto la existencia de un incremento desmedido de información en las redes sociales, que en buena parte incumplen el verdadero sentido y el rigor del trabajo periodístico.
También se observa el uso del mismo formato de radial para entregar información en redes sociales, que evidencia débil preparación, escaso esfuerzo, sutil trabajo, poca investigación, mal trato al lector o cibernauta, cambio del objetivo periodístico, deterioro de la profesión, desenfreno del amarillismo informativo, carencia de rigor, afección a la credibilidad y la existencia de imaginarios seguidores, de muchos, quienes posan de periodistas.
La revelación en WhatsApp, por parte de un ciudadano, el taponamiento de la vía La Plata – Nátaga, como consecuencia de un talud de tierra (nota cierta, real, concreta, verídica y comprobable) no convierte al referido ciudadano en un periodista consuetudinario.
“Lo que pasa es que los periodistas tenemos que transformarnos, ya no ser los simples repetidores de noticias, sino verdaderos analistas de la información, personas que tenemos la capacidad de recomponer en contextos enriquecidos, los hechos acontecidos. El trabajo se nos hizo muchísimo más difícil, porque nos exige muchísimo mayor capacidad, mucha más de la que el ciudadano del común tiene” César Augusto Useche. Periodista
Que el ciudadano del común utilice su derecho a informar y ser informado es una cosa y otra muy distinta, emplear la profesión de periodista como escampadero.
Las redes Sociales tienen libre utilización, pero no para usurpar una profesión y emplearlas para sacar prebenda a costa del ciudadano.
La investigación y el tratamiento de la información son las mismas en un periódico impreso en físico que, en Redes Sociales, pero la verdadera diferencia radica en que éstas, su diseño, su diagramación, la escogencia de la información y su rapidez, superan a aquel.
EL PAPEL DEL PERIODISMO EN LA SOCIEDAD

Desde
sus inicios, el periodismo ha sido parte fundamental de la sociedad y de todo
lo que ocurre en ella. Gracias a él es posible saber algo de lo que sucedió en
el pasado, a la vez que registra el presente y esboza el futuro. Sin embargo,
es en las últimas décadas donde el periodismo y los medios de comunicación han
cobrado una importancia jamás pensada, convirtiéndose en un poder de magnitud
similar al de la política y la economía, ello hasta el punto de que estas dos
últimas, en algunas ocasiones, se han de plegar a lo que ha sido denominado,
con el correr de los días y los años por los analistas y observadores «el
cuarto poder» .
Cuando se habla de la sociedad se hace referencia, por extensión, a lo que el
periodismo ha producido en ella, pues éste, al registrarla y al reflejarla,
termina por dibujar sus contornos y los acontecimientos presentes y futuros, en
gran parte, debido a la información difundida por el periodismo que permite que
la gran mayoría de personas, tomar una posición definida frente a los
acontecimientos, los grupos y las personas.
Según esto, se hace imprescindible hablar de la ética del periodista; es decir, de su responsabilidad y de los principios con los que se supone que ha de actuar para no afectar negativamente el curso de los acontecimientos que narra; no obstante, esto no siempre ocurre, pues el periodismo se ha ido convirtiendo en una forma aparentemente transparente de escalar posiciones en la sociedad, de manipular situaciones y de alcanzar fines no siempre benéficos para la sociedad, los seres humanos y el mundo (claro está que lo anterior también depende de las leyes que, en cada país, regulan a los medios de comunicación).
Cabe aclarar que el papel del periodismo y por tanto del periodista en la sociedad, es el de crear conciencia sobre las diferentes situaciones que acontecen, en pro de generar una mejor calidad de vida, así como advertir a la sociedad acerca de las posibles consecuencias que ciertas acciones pueden acarrear.
A la vez, ese papel del periodismo y por tanto del periodista, ha de procurar comunicar todas aquellas acciones que tienden hacia el bien común de las personas y del mundo.
En
últimas, el periodismo ha de suministrar, a las personas, y al mundo en el que
habitan, herramientas informativas y cognitivas suficientes para que las
relaciones de entre seres humanos, y las de éstos con el mundo, se enfoquen,
cada vez más, hacia la fraternidad, la hermandad y la generosidad.
Tanto el periodismo como los medios de comunicación cumplen un papel
fundamental, pues es por intermedio de ellos que conocemos los hechos; de lo
que se puede concluir que, puesto que lo que ellos digan, expresen o informen
es lo que, al final, conocemos, es evidente que de su veracidad, transparencia
y honestidad depende la objetividad del mundo que nos muestran.
