Hasta el viernes 5 de febrero, más de 70 expertos diversas disciplinas científicas participan en el XVI Encuentro de Investigadores del Instituto SINCHI, para dar a conocer resultados de estudios y herramientas que han desarrollado para la conservación y gestión integral de la Amazonia colombiana, basados en ciencia, innovación, transferencia de tecnología, gestión de información y apropiación social del conocimiento.
Por primera vez el evento estará abierto al público como una apuesta del Instituto Amazónico de Investigaciones Científicas SINCHI para seguir propiciando espacios de intercambio de conocimiento entre la ciudadanía y los investigadores, a través de las redes sociales y su portal institucional www.sinchi.org.co.
Según la directora general del SINCHI, Luz Marina Mantilla Cárdenas, esta es una manera de abordar el reto que plantea la situación actual de la pandemia por COVID-19, “la apropiación del conocimiento a través de los resultados que se producen con el trabajo y el quehacer misional tiene un impacto importante dentro de nuestra vida, dentro de nuestra sociedad y dentro de esta nueva forma de relacionarnos con el conocimiento científico”.
Durante su intervención en la apertura del Encuentro, la Directora General destacó la contribución al posicionamiento de la región amazónica de iniciativas como Colombia se Reactiva desde la Amazonia, realizada del 1 al 4 de diciembre de 2020 y liderada por el Presidente Iván Duque y por el Ministro de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, Carlos Eduardo Correa.
“Para nosotros es importante aportar a la política y a la agenda pública con el posicionamiento de la Amazonia a través del conocimiento científico”, aseguró Mantilla.
En esta oportunidad biólogos, ingenieros agrónomos y químicos, microbiólogos y sociólogos, analizan la contribución del SINCHI a la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación de la región, con el desarrollo de investigaciones en temáticas como conocimiento y monitoreo de la biodiversidad amazónica, colecciones biológicas, conocimiento tradicional, modelamiento, uso sostenible y conservación de los bosques, restauración ecológica, acuerdos de conservación de bosques y emprendimientos.
Para una mayor comprensión del desarrollo científico del SINCHI durante 2020 en la Amazonia colombiana, en su portal institucional ha dispuesto un micrositio con 19 infografías científicas y 25 videos sobre la realidad biológica, social y ecológica de la región.
Este año, además que de que el evento es 100% virtual, en las charlas magistrales se contará con la participación de reconocidos expertos como Gonzalo Andrade, director Instituto de Ciencias Naturales de la Universidad Nacional; Juan Álvaro Echeverry, profesor de la Universidad Nacional; Ángela Andrade, presidenta de la Comisión de Manejo Ecosistémico de la UICN; Carlos Pedraza, científico, Earth Big Data L; y Víctor Solano Franco, consultor en comunicaciones.
Desde 2001 el SINCHI realiza estos encuentros para facilitar el diálogo, en un principio, entre los investigadores y el área administrativa y para mostrar los avances de sus cinco programas de investigación: Dinámicas Socioambientales, Ecosistemas y Recursos Naturales, Gestión Compartida, Modelos de Funcionamiento, y Sostenibilidad e Intervención.
