El gobierno nacional sancionó a la firma responsable de ampliar y pavimentar la carretera La Plata-Totoró-Popayán, por los retrasos conscientes en la ejecución del millonario contrato adjudicado hace varios años, sin notarse avance concreto, frente a la prontitud en la entrega de recursos por parte del ministerio del Transporte y a los términos contractuales.
El Vicepresidente de la República, German Vargas Lleras, reveló que la sanción pecuniaria supera los ocho mil millones de pesos, esperando que con esta determinación, pueda sentir la exigencia oficial, frente a un compromiso contractual y a una esperanza de amplia región colombiana, deseosa de encontrar mejores condiciones para la comercialización de su producción hacia el Pacífico y los mercados externos.
